There are plenty of new movies coming later this year. Some are new takes on already existing movies, and others are sequels to continue fan–loved franchises. Whatever it is, there’s a movie for everyone to enjoy. Some of those movies include Lilo & Stitch, Superman, Jurassic World: Rebirth and The Blackphone 2.
Lilo & Stitch (May 23, 2025)
Lilo & Stitch is a new live–action remake of the original 2002 film produced by Disney. The movie is meant to retell the story of Lilo and her alien companion Stitch who is a wanted extraterrestrial. Lilo helps Stitch and helps him learn how to care for others. The movie will be directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, who is known for other films such as Fraud and Marcel the Shell with Shoes On.
Superman (July 11, 2025)
Superman is a reboot of the character for an extended movie universe. The movie tells Superman’s upbringing as a man named Clark Kent and his Kryptonian heritage as he faces a new threat. The movie will be directed by known movie director James Gunn who is responsible for other well-viewed superhero movies such as Guardians of the Galaxy and the TV show Peacemaker.
Jurassic World: Rebirth (July 2, 2025)
Continuing the 32-year-old series, Jurassic World: Rebirth brings the audience to the original research facility used to create the dinosaurs of the first movies. As the cast traverses through the dinosaur-inhabited island, they soon come to realize the dangers of what was abandoned there long ago. The movie will be directed by Gareth Edwards who is known for other works such as Godzilla and Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
The Blackphone 2 (October 17, 2025)
The Blackphone 2 is a sequel to the first movie that is based on the Joe Hill Novel of the same name. While little is known about the movie, it can be assumed that it follows as a continuation of the first movie where the main character Finney must find his way out of the basement of a man known as The Grabber. He does this with the help of the spirits of passed children who failed to escape The Grabber. The movie is going to be directed by Scott Derrickson who worked on the first movie and others like The Gorge and Doctor Strange.
