Summer is coming soon, and a few BHS students know what they want to do. Summer break can be a way for students to find new interests and enjoy the warm sunshine, but there can be so much confusion in what you might want to do for sure.
Let’s be real. All over social media we see the things people do for summer, but some of us don’t have travel plans. Instead of sitting there jealous, students should try to look for fun activities locally to avoid that immense boredom. Whether you are hanging out with family, friends or even just yourself, there are plenty of small things to keep occupied until next school year.
“If someone is bored and has like nowhere to go, they should go to the park or even just take a walk anywhere to not stay bored,” sophomore Lasheena Glaspy said. “Just try and leave the house, and that way you can meet new people and make new memories.”
Generally, going outside can be a great way to find something to do, whether it is a simple walk or a big hangout with friends, it can keep students occupied.
At times, students might not feel super outdoorsy, or the temperatures can get way too high for comfort. Then, there are plenty of indoor activities as well. Invite a friend over or just even unwind by playing video games or watching a new show.
“In previous summers, if it was too hot or rainy outside, I would play games like Minecraft or Roblox or just watch a show,” sophomore Jade Cline said. “I recommend you find a good show or a movie series to binge watch.”
Before summer, students can even just take a moment to plan activities, so they don’t have to be confused or last–minute. Don’t feel like you must waste your summer by doing absolutely nothing. BHS students have kept themselves busy with things all over Brownsburg to make the most of their summers.
“So literally just get into the group chat with you and your friends or even anyone and figure out what kind of stuff you guys want to look forward to at a certain point this summer so you can have fun,” Glaspy said.
