Fazoli’s claims to have an unlimited amount of breadsticks, but is it truly unlimited?

Located off Rockville Road in Avon is a young and beautiful fast-food Italian restaurant. Fazoli’s is a casual sit-down restaurant considered to be fast-food because of the quick drive-thru they offer and the lightning speed service they provide in dining. They serve a plethora of different Italian themed dishes such as their boneless wings, baked spaghetti, pizza and salad options. If there are two things Fazoli’s is known for, it’s their lightning-quick service and their breadsticks.

One of the staples of Fazoli’s is their warm, fluffy, mouthwatering breadsticks. Every dish can include breadsticks by making it a meal, and along with the sticks would be a drink and salad. However, if you dine in then it’s free “unlimited” breadsticks. When a customer walks into any Fazoli’s, one sign they’ll see reads “Unlimited breadsticks if you dine in.” Fazoli’s claims to be able to give out unlimited breadsticks, but is it really unlimited?

The claim to have unlimited breadsticks is an amazing marketing move. The idea of being able to give out unlimited breadsticks is extremely appealing to a customer.  A YouTube video titled “The Fazoli’s Breadstick Challenge! (May 2012)” is about a group of high school students who are trying to beat a record that their band has made. The record they’re trying to beat is 360 breadsticks eaten in one sitting. The video starts with a group of four, one being a father, eating and describing how fantastic the breadsticks are. Three minutes into the video and the group gained some helpers and by doing so, the restaurant had to start making more breadsticks. By the end of the video, the group of six had eaten a total of 90 breadsticks!

On the Fazoli’s website they say, “100 million breadsticks are served every year.” In total, there are 213 Fazoli restaurants nationwide. By dividing the total number of Fazoli’s by the amount of breadsticks they sell each year, on average each building sells a total of 469,483.5 breadsticks a year. From there, we can divide that number by 365 to see on average how many breadsticks are sold each day which is 1,286.25 breadsticks. So everyday at a time, there is at least 1,287 breadsticks within the Fazoli’s building.

At the end of the day, Fazoli’s breadsticks are a wonder of the world. Unlimited has proven to be true to the claim. Fazoli’s can supply even the hungriest of stomachs with their unlimited amount of breadsticks.
