As the year begins, there have been a few changes to the school routine. One of the most obvious of these changes is the student drop-off zone.
With the construction, the drop-off had to be changed to keep parents and students out of the way.
“That has always been the design of the school to have drop off in the back by door six when the rest of the construction is finished,” Interim Principal Balitewicz said.
With the road closures in Brownsburg, Balitewicz thinks that “it’s causing some congestion in the town too” and that “once cars are on campus, we want to make sure that’s as smooth as possible.”
The idea with the change right now is that they want to try making the student drop-off as efficient as possible and with the drop-off change, they can help ensure that student drivers are still able to enter the school through door 1. For walkers, they can enter the school through doors 1, 6 and 16 in the mornings and exit the school through door 4, 1 and 16.
Something Balitewicz would like for parents to do is “pull up as far as they can in the drive, and drop off when they come into the drive. We just want them to hold the students in the car, and then when they get down the drive, they could drop their child off, and we just want everybody to be safe,” Balitewicz said.
The goal is that as many students are able to be dropped off and prevent congestion on the roads from traffic pulling into the back lot of the school for morning drop–offs.
