Marckensley Alexis is originally from Haiti; his family came to the United States at the age of 7. Alexis spent most of his life in Florida and came to Indiana not too long ago. He has three older brothers, two younger sisters and a new baby brother. He started playing soccer around the age of nine in middle school at Florida and he also played for his high school there.

Alexis started here at BHS as a Senior in 2021 and he is also a part of the soccer team here where he plays as a center back. A Centre Back (CB) defends in the area directly in front of the goal and tries to prevent opposing players from scoring. Alexis admits that BHS is much more different from his high school at Florida. His school at Florida had only one cafeteria for the whole school while BHS has two: one in the main building and one in the Senior Academy. He commented that “Florida is warmer, but Indiana is cold” so he hasn’t gotten used to it yet. And being a new student, most of his friends are from the soccer team.
You might see Alexis in the hallways with his headphones on. His favorite musicians are Kodak, Jack Boy and Bob Seger.

Alexis is excited for life after high school, and he plans to go to college at IU East. He wants to major in sport management and his ultimate plan is to be a soccer coach. He knows that the academic part of college is not going to be easy, but it is necessary to achieve his goals of playing soccer at the college level. Outside of school, he goes to the gym so that he can stay in shape and in his free time, he listens to music, watch scary movies or just sleeps.
He acknowledges his family as a huge supporter of his soccer-related activities, and they are vital to his success because they buy him the sporting equipment needed. His older brothers train with him as well. In soccer, his role model is Sergio Ramos.

Sergio Ramos is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain and the Spain national team. He played as a center-back for Real Madrid for 16 seasons, and he was their captain for six seasons. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest defenders of all time.
Alexis likes him because he holds the same position on the soccer field. Sergio Ramos is a center back, just like him.
